to banafsheh: you can look at formulas in the appendix session. I believe both are defind as smooth functions. And vensim give the opportunity to call the smooth function rather than formulate it with net-flow.

Introduction was well written and model includes good insights. I understand that it is a system dynamics course project and therefore model must be central to the essay.
But, generally, why don't you SD guys describe your contributions in a more plain language and do not push the model to background. It significantly increases paper's chance to get published.
